Britney Spears has been through a lot lately, it all started with her hi-profile pregnancy during the time when half a dozen other celebrities were also pregnant, then her divorce which gave K-Fed all the limelight he could never get out of his sluggish career, then Paris Hilton dropped by Britney Spears’ post-divorce depressed life and BOOM! Britney Spears beats Paris Hilton in terms of publicity and all the brouhaha about Britney going bald and slowly mad made the woman the most over exposed celebrity in Hollywood.
A recent study revealed that Britney Spears is the most overexposed celebrity in the world. According to studies by Encino, a whopping 72 per cent of the US public believes the ‘Lucky’ songstress has received too much publicity in 2007, while only 54 per cent thought the same was true five years ago.
Meanwhile, resulting from the same survey, only 25 per cent of pollsters answered yes to a question asking if they thought that Britney was talented. Who else is getting too much of the limelight?
According to Encino and rounding out the top five were: jail-bound Paris Hilton, Britney’s ex Kevin Federline, Scientologist Tom Cruise and Paris’ Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie.
While it depends on the celebrity when it comes to liking the extra attention, publicist Stan Rosenfield, whose clients include George Clooney and Robert De Niro, insists stars only have themselves to blame if they attract too much attention.
He told Life Style: “It’s like the juggler’s lament. The balls go where you throw them. If you show up at places that are covered by the media, then they’re going to cover you. And if you don’t show up, they won’t.”
