(CP) - Spectacular meltdowns by Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears this week featured more than just shockingly bad behaviour - they highlighted the curious and ever-expanding role of celebrity personal assistants.
Just hours before the troubled Lohan was nabbed for alleged drug possession and drinking and driving, her personal assistant was said to have quit the inner circle, sparking a row and a car chase involving Lohan and the assistant's mother.
And when Britney Spears fell apart at a magazine shoot, allegedly destroying designer gowns and walking off with thousands of dollars in swag, her personal assistant apparently stood by and watched, and then allegedly walked off with a few items herself. Read more
